Why we’re building Kennelnest
Across reviews of existing pet-care software, the same problems kept showing up: apps customers avoided, payment relationships owners could not control, prices that climbed with growth and add-ons, and years of records that were difficult to take elsewhere.

The planned workflow shows what the parent submits, what Kennelnest can check, and what your team still needs to confirm at each stage of the stay.

Checks or staff reviewIf no deposit is required, confirm the reservation directly. If a deposit is required, confirm or hold the spot with a stated payment window; the parent follows your facility-owned payment link, and your team verifies it before Kennelnest records it received.
Spot confirmed or heldAt check-in, turn submitted details into structured feeding, medication, and care tasks, with photos and factual family updates kept in the context of this stay.
Checked in and in careApply only a verified deposit or credit, calculate the remaining balance, and record settlement by facility payment link, cash, or card at the desk.
Stay closed; payment recordedPayment reports and payment verification remain separate. A parent can report payment sent, but only your team’s check in its own processor marks the deposit received. Kennelnest never holds the funds.
The pet-parent side
After the first request, a parent can return through a private browser link to continue or review the request, update vaccines, read factual updates, and follow the facility's payment instructions.
Your public facility link starts a new request without exposing private client history.
Private client records are available only through a client-specific Magic Link after identity and facility context are established.
No app download, account, or password required
Facility control by design
Kennelnest is being planned around the accounts and operational history your facility owns—not a new financial middleman or a data trap.
Payment independence
Use the payment processor and payment link your facility already owns. A parent can report payment sent; your team verifies it in its own processor before Kennelnest records it received. Cash and card-at-the-desk payments can be recorded at checkout.
Your facility-owned processor handles the payment.
The payment report is marked for review—not marked paid.
Only then is the deposit recorded as received.
Standard processing fees and payout schedules from your chosen payment provider still apply. Kennelnest does not verify, process, or hold funds.
Data portability
Structured exports for clients, pets, vaccines, bookings, care records, and invoices are part of the planned product boundary. Migration support will be shaped with the founding cohort.
